Mother’s Day Gift Wrapping Idea
Here is a project that I worked on yesterday, a great Mother’s day gift wrapping idea. I love fresh flowers and I’ve wanted to incorporate them in my gift wrapping for a while now. It was a fairly quick project once I had decided on the flowers to use. With some great advice from Sarah of The Flower Hut, I decided to use an orchid and some wax flower, as these are likely to last longer out of water.
I guess the easy option to create this style would be to use plastic or silk flowers as they would last forever without water.
I started by wrapping the gift (empty box) in brown paper (one of my favourite materials) and used the Japanese pleating technique. I created 3 bands which run the length of the box and then tied a beautiful 2 tone green wired ribbon into a bow sitting on the corner.
The orchid was gently tied together with the wax flower using florists tape and then covered with normal garden string for a rustic look.
The flowers were tied into the bow along the box to finish the look.
You can wrap your gift in advance but the flowers need to be made at the latest possible time so they have more chance of lasting.
The flowers won’t last forever but I would love to receive a gift that looked like this wouldn’t you?
Spring gift wrapping course dates launching soon.
